Suzanne (Suzy) Mason, Director: Suzy Mason serves as the interim Board President and is Co-Founding Director of the Louisiana Green Corps. Since 2008, Mason has worked to build the infrastructure of the Corps, has raised over $2M for programming and conservation projects, and incorporated the Corps as a non-profit organization as of August 2010. Mason holds a Bachelor of Art in Sociology and Spanish from University from North Carolina and is a 2012 MBA Candidate at Tulane University. She has experience in small business management, human resources and executive search, grants management, contract procurement, and non-profit development. Tranisha Walker, Program Manager: Tranisha Walker is a native to New Orleans who attended Warren Easton Fundamental High School, a local public school in the area. Walker finished out her education at Centenary College of Louisiana where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a minor in Business. Walker has worked in an array of fields ranging from Human Resources, the State Health Department, to non-profit organizations. Prior to Louisiana Green Corps, Walker worked for Volunteers of America as the Housing Case Manager, and then Gulf Coast Construction Career Center as the Intake Specialist. During her time with Volunteers of America, Walker placed homeless individuals into permanent housing, helping them to readjust to independent living. In addition, she attended social service meetings, networking with a plethora of individuals/organizations to assist with client needs. As an Intake Specialist, Walker recruited, placed, and managed individuals for the three week program, and thereafter for up to two years, assisting them with any social service need. At LAGC, Walker manages the three month job-training program; recruiting, managing, and placing participants in jobs. Walker diligently works one-on-one with her students helping them to accomplish their career goals, while maintaining a stable living environment. Email: tranisha@lagreencorps.org.

Greg Aycock, Project Coordinator: Greg Aycock is a native of Baltimore, Maryland who has worked in the construction and deconstruction trade since moving to New Orleans in the summer of 2004. Aycock’s resolution to work within the deconstruction field was solidified in the three years after Katrina. During this time, Aycock learned the tremendous historical and financial significance of salvaging old lumbers, brick, and architectural building materials. In addition to over four years of deconstruction experience, Aycock constructs and sells custom painting and photography frames. Julia Berghammer, Marketing & Communications: Julia Berghammer received a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art and Art History from Trinity University in 2009. Both an artist and art historian, Berghammer spent six months living and working in London at a small gallery in Chelsea. In San Antonio she interned with Lawrence Markey Gallery. After graduation Berghammer returned to her home of Austin, TX to intern at the University of Texas Creative Research Lab. In addition she has experience in community outreach, education, development, as well as working with museums and non-profit organizations.

Always drawn to New Orleans, Julia came to the city to work with AmeriCorps and Operation Reach as an art teacher at a summer service learning camp at Fischer Elementary. After spending eight months working at Octavia Art Gallery, Berghammer returned to the non-profit world as an AmeriCorps VISTA with Louisiana Green Corps. Berghammer brings business management, design and creativity, and communication skills to her role as Marketing and Communications Representative. Email: julia@lagreencorps.org.
