Louisiana Green Corps employs qualified and skilled Crew Leaders and Supervisors to mentor and coach participants on fee for service and volunteer projects while training program participants learn new skills. Participants employed on projects have undergone training and received certifications in Core Construction through the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), OSHA 10 Construction Safety, CPR/ First Aid, 8 hour EPA Lead Renovator, Asbestos Awareness, and Forklift Safety. In addition to these industry trainings, participants in the youth training program also receive life skills, work readiness, environmental literacy, financial literacy, and health and wellness trainings. After getting some hands on experience in the Louisiana Green Corps’ work shop and on volunteer projects in the community, Corps members are ready to work!

We are seeking partners to engage our crews on paid work projects. These projects help support a local non-profit conservation corps and provide valuable paid work opportunities to Corps members while providing them additional hands on experience. All participants are required to have a recent background check and drug test prior to being offered paid work experience on Corps projects. Louisiana Green Corps pays at least $8.50 per hour to crew members and covers all requisite worker’s compensation insurance and taxes. Crews come with hand tools, personal protective equipment, a 12 passenger van, 5×10 foot trailer, water/ ice for workers, and professional and general liability insurance coverage.
